Things are a little less commercial at LettersLeather.
We attend to each and every inquiry personally instead of running a fully automated e-commerce store. We handmade every strap in-house, we do not hire external helpers, and we take care of our customers and their needs like friends.

The Hands Behind Every Leather Strap
K, an engineer with strong affection towards wristwatches and technology, enjoys creating with hands.
Also a self-taught strap crafter in Malaysia.
K’s watch journey started when he received the very first watch from his late father at the age of 17 and shows no sign of slowing since then. From watch movement, design to the history behind every brand, he finds them irresistible and captivating. Like every watch enthusiast, he takes daily wrist shots and enjoys putting on different straps for his watches every other day if not every day.

His watch wonder was further stretched to leather straps a few years ago when he started to hunt for custom straps. As a part of the noodle-wrist family, K has a smaller-than-average wrist size that is less of a common offering in the ready-made strap market. Very often he ended up with an unfitting watch strap that never stays on and constantly moves around the wrist, causing discomfort, inconvenient, and ultimately discounted his watch wearing experience. Not to mention how the loose strap might ruin the watch expression. He had to constantly adjust the watch position on his wrist to make sure it stays on the comfortable position.

K acquired his first custom watch strap from a crafter based in Vietnam. Apart from the great fitting he received from customization, K especially enjoys the great versatility and lighter weight derived from the leather strap, and the beautiful rich patina leather develops over time that makes it precious and distinctive.
​
However, K still finds the strap customizing experience he had incomplete. He figured the customization level could be one of the game-changers in the market. “perhaps WIS has different expectations on watch strap. We want to keep it exclusive yet practical, fully adapted to our watch needs.” K laughed and admitted to his perfectionism. He wanted a strap that could meet his needs across different levels yet he can’t seem to find one at that time.

That somewhat got him into thinking, maybe, he could craft the ‘perfect’ strap that he had been searching for, a 100% customizable strap. And he did. That strap successfully aroused interest within friends and family. One after another. Slowly, it became a small hobby business that allows K to connect his passion to the world through his hands - LettersLeather.
